J.M.R. Electric Ltd. Kemptville Awarded M&E Contract for Lansdowne 2.0 Arena & Stadium Redevelopment

J.M.R. Electric Ltd. is proud to announce that we have been selected to partner with EBC Inc. as the mechanical and electrical contractor for the landmark “Lansdowne 2.0” redevelopment in Ottawa. The contract was formally awarded following final approval of the project by the City of Ottawa.

What Lansdowne 2.0 Includes

  • A brand-new municipally-owned Event Centre to replace the existing arena at the east end of TD Place Stadium. The Event Centre will be home to the Ottawa 67’s (OHL) and was also proposed for the Ottawa Charge (women’s hockey).
  • Upgraded North-Side Stands for the stadium, renewing the facility for the Ottawa Redblacks (CFL) and other outdoor events.

Key Arena & Stadium Specifications

  • The Event Centre will feature around 6,600 seats for hockey games and will accommodate more than 7,000 for concerts and other large events.
  • The new North-Side Stands for TD Place will have a seating capacity of 12,400.
  • EBC Inc.’s fixed-price bid for the Event Centre & North Stands works is approximately $312.8 million.

Electric Ltd. will play a critical role in delivering state-of-the-art systems for the new Event Centre and renovated stadium, lighting, power distribution, HVAC, fire protection, building automation, and more, ensuring that the venue meets modern performance, accessibility and sustainability standards.

Looking Ahead

Construction has already officially begun. Phase 1, focused on the new Event Centre and associated site work, will run through to mid-2028. Subsequent phases will see completion of the North Stands, retail podium and residential towers, and full site revitalization over the coming 8 to 10 years
